Located in Greenpoint, the existing townhouse was re-built from the ground up. Site work included new water and electrical services and an entry ramp for stroller access. The construction of the new townhouse focused on increasing the energy efficiency of the building while maximizing access to natural light. The detailing of the new building envelope, windows, and skylight were improved to maintain indoor comfort while minimizing energy consumption. A central stair was designed to connect the lower levels to the roof, accessible only by a ladder in the previous construction. At the roof, a new terrace offers an unobstructed view of the Manhattan skyline. Studio Superette acted as the architect of record, delivering construction documents and construction administration services.
